Selling our 1999.5 VW Cabrio MK3.5. We purchased this Cabrio from Florida for my daughters many years ago. They used the Cabrio around town and to commute into NYC for school. As you can tell, it's a bit scratched from parking in the city and has some rust (no holes yet) from winter in the northeast.Top was replaced a few years ago but still leaks a bit and has one small hole in the back (PS).All mechanicals work, no check engine light. It passed inspection, just needs some TLC on the body. Very solid car, I have two more VWs and except for cosmetics they are all in great condition.Here are a few things I've done in the past few years:Last month I installed a new battery ($190.00)New tires, also have two newer snow tires on steel black rims that come with the car.Rear rotors and calipers.Secondary Air System and a few hard plastic hoses.Tuneup and a few other things I can't remember right now.The Bad:Starting to rust (as you can see in pictures)Driver side door handle is from an MK3 and needs to be adjustedPS front fender, daughter spun out in the rain and hit a railingDriver seat has small hole but the cushion was replaced a few years ago, seats are dirtyScratches on front and rear bumperVery solid Cabrio, needs some work to make it look pristine. Sold AS-IS.Daughters don't need it anymore, youngest bought a used Rabbit (MKV) and oldest lives in NYC so no need for vehicle.I've shipped and had vehicles shipped to me so I can help with shipping. I've enjoyed the car for 10 years. I bought it from a college student (a senior) who was getting married and moving away for $3500.I then replaced the cracked windshield ($100.), put in a new AM/FM CD ($200.) and right headlight component ($180) and just had the engine value gaskets replaced (it was due to mileage,not burning oil) $380 because I was debating about keeping it. Why am I selling it so cheaply. I own 2 trucks and am 69 years old and a little tired of "my toy" as my wife calls it. I want it to go to someone who will enjoy it as much as I have.It drives and runs very well...back tires are a little worn (but I know the tire shop I purchased them from --2 would cost $30. each) In the future I know you'll need a brake job, but not now.Also the convertible canvas top is in great shape except on one right side seem near the back window. I ran black Gorilla tape (as you can see in the photo) over the seem. No leakage what-so-ever. A new top with a plastic back window costs over $500..this one is a heated glass back window. So, I would forget about replacing it since you have the top down most of the time. Also, it has power windows and mirrors, a working Factory Anti-theft Alarm System and Heated Black Leather Seats.
